 Hillary, Mutt Down!!
Back to Full Blog

The final nail in the Clinton sarcophagus has been hammered in by one of their closest confidants, Bill Richardson. She can only steal the nomination by fraud and blackmail. The super-delegates have their duty to confirm the will of the voters. The Clinton forces want to insist that some states are more equal than others. They have lost their bid to re-do Florida and Michigan, The rules were clear and the she couldn't help herself from cheating, quite like her husband. She is definitely not as good as she looks. She is as close to the status quo as we dare allow. If she becomes the nominee, the Democratic party will be crushed forever. This is her desire. She and her supporters, especially the inner circle are, at heart, conservative. Although born in Illinois, the Clintons are from Arkansas, not exactly a bastion of liberality. Now we learn of her involvement with "The Family", a far right, evangelical conglomeration of fascist power hungry operatives whose goal is world domination through financial, military, and religious suppression. The media will never allow you to hear this, just as John McSame's idiocy will never be broached by the media which is totally owned and operated by war-profiteering corporations, Westinghouse, General Electric, Viacom, Disney and the likes of Rupert Murdoch, who by the way, gave a fund raising gathering for the dragon lady. She is as dangerous to the Republic as Insane McSame.
You mindless women who would sacrifice the welfare of the Republic merely to have a woman as president are as harmful to the nation as George W. Bush. This is the time for clear headed Patriots whose sole concern is for the Republic and not gender or race. Hillary Clinton is more of the same. America, please try to rise above your bumper sticker mentality and grasp this opportunity to salvage what is left of a once great nation, trashed and dispoiled by 27 years of corporatist pigdom. Thank you, Ronald Reagan, the great disembler.Ribet....ribet.

Hello Toadie, I agree with you in principle. Did you hear that a photo has surfaced of the Pastor shaking hands with Bill Clinton 10 years back, at a White House breakfast/prayer meeting. If he is so anti-American, why was he there? Have a great weekend Sincerely Mike

The outrage over Wright's comments should be tempered by contrasting them with the remarks of these abominable white evangelical pastors whose support was actively courted by McSame. They always get a free ride in the media because they are white and the far-right christian fanatics are great contributors to the republican coffers. Robertson blamed 9/11 on American minorities. Hagee blamed Katrina on those horrible gays in New Orleans. The flood never touched the French Quarter. Apparently, god has poor aim.
I hear too often from whites that slavery was bad but that blacks should get over it. Whites are still in denial and blind to the very real and active racism that continues to this day. The flurry of nooses that appeared in the wake of the Jena, Louisana incident in which the white kids claimed sole right to sitting under a public tree
I understand Reverend Wright's comments and the genesis of them. It's O.K. to hate in America as long as you are white but they recoil in phoney outrage when a person of color assails them for their past and present behavior.
Wright is not alone in suspecting that 9/11 was an inside job. The 9/11 Commission has fought tooth and nail to suppress much of the evidence witnessed by those at the sight. Wright is not the only voice to question the origen of A.I.D.S. Too many Americans still labor under the illusion that our Government would never raise a hand against its own people for political and econonic gain. Phooey!!!! This criminal administration is hardly above suspicion and certainly capable of perpetrating the most heinous acts. Be on the lookout for another catastrophe before election time.
There is much wrong with this country and a "heads in the sand" approach will not ameliorate the unjust conditions.

Toadie:

Here is an interesting excerpt from the Huffington Post about Hillary and The Family:

"You don't choose your family, but you choose what church you want to attend." said Hillary Clinton, to reporters and editors of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Tuesday the 25th.

This is an interesting choice of words, since -- while we mostly hear about her Methodist upbringing -- Hillary Clinton has chosen to associate herself with The Family (also known as the Fellowship), a very conservative, fundamentalist organization started by Abraham Vereide...

"...an immigrant preacher who in 1935 organized a small group of businessmen sympathetic to European fascism, fusing the Far Right with his own polite but authoritarian faith. From that core, Vereide built an international network of fundamentalists who spoke the language of establishment power, a "family" that thrives to this day. In public, they host prayer breakfasts; in private they preach a gospel of "biblical capitalism," military might, and American empire. Citing Hitler, Lenin, and Mao, Doug Coe, the Family's current leader, declares, "We work with power where we can, build new power where we can't."

This quote is taken from the book on The Family by the same name which will be published in May... a book which claims to

"...dramatically challenge conventional wisdom about American fundamentalism, revealing its crucial role in the unraveling of the New Deal, the waging of the Cold War, and the no-holds-barred economics of globalization. The question Sharlet believes we must ask is not "What do fundamentalists want?" but "What have they already done?"

A long article was written about Hillary Clinton's participation in this organization last September in Mother Jones, and The Family, itself, was the subject of an extensive article in Harper's in March of 2003. And on March 21st, The Nation published an article on Hillary and The Family by Barbara Ehrenreich that was published on The Huffington Post and CBS News' web site.

The Family avoids the word Christian but worships Jesus, though not the Jesus who promised the earth to the "meek." They believe that, in mass societies, it's only the elites who matter, the political leaders who can build God's "dominion" on earth. Insofar as The Family has a consistent philosophy, it's all about power - cultivating it, building it and networking it together into ever-stronger units, or "cells."

Whit,
Thanks for your thoughtful and enlightening comment. When I first learned of her association with "The Family" I was most distressed. I admit, I was a Hillary supporter until she showed her real colors especially during this current run-up to the nomination. She, like "slick" Willie are not to be trusted with bringing about any real meaningful change in the political forum. They are corporatist, hands-off capitalists all the way. The"Family" is very Calvinistic with their focus on the elected, predestined who deserve to rule by divine edict. Thoroughly scary and unwholesome people. I think if more women were aware of her true nature they just might abandon their support of her merely based on the estrogen factor. We need a wise electorate not one in love.
