We are at a political crossroads in this country .The legacy of our founding fathers, our beloved America, an America which has been for generations a beacon of hope and possibilities limited only by the scope of one's will to countless millions ,not only of this country, but worldwide, is in grave peril. The greatest threat is not from foreign terror but from the terror within our Union. The Republican party ,for all intents and purposes, has been hijacked by lunatics. The party is an unholy, loosely bound alliance of economic fascists and religious nazis. The neo-con eco-fascists have the civic conciousness of crocodiles and the religio-nazis have bartered their humanity for a myth. These are hideous people with even more hideous agendas. Both elements are actively working to reshape the world in their own image. The fascists are bent on a new world order of corporate domination and the christian zealots are seeking spiritual enslavement while awaiting and expecting the preposterously absurd occurance "the rapture" or the return of their Jesus who will with a "heigh-ho silver , away" sweep of his hand gloriously transform the world ushering in a thousand year reign on earth. Sounds ominously like Hitler's third reich. These monsters control all facets of the federal government and most state legislatures. We gasp in horror at the excesses of Islamic fundamentalism which urges the young to obliterate themselves and countless innocents in exchange for 72 virgins and/or a new birka. But we have our own homegrown fundamentalist horror show as millions of believers who, while ignoring universal human suffering, fix their eyes on this travesty they call the rapture. It must be clear to all who cherish human life and the human experience that the dark forces of militarism, religion and superstition, indistinguishable entities, present a formidable challenge to a reasonable, rational, and ultimately sane approach to life on earth. You republicans who have not aligned yourselves with either faction, and let us hope you are out there, where does all this madness leave you? What's a loving, caring sensible person like yourself doing supporting the republican party? And by the way, since the church has thrown its halo into the political arena, its high time we tax the hell out of them!! Ribet...ribet

Absolute power corrupts absolutely and this current Republican administration is the perfect poster child for the axiom. There have been years of seemingly futile waiting but we have finally gotten a glimpse of those red crotchless panties beneath the pristine white communion dress in which the righties love to pose. Are we witessing the implosion of the Republican party? A well deserved catastrophe fomented by the excesses of greed and hypocracy. One of the charges laid to our infant democracy was to promote the "general welfare", not the welfare of General Electric, General Foods, or General Dynamics. This administration has as its endgame the transferral of wealth from the many to the priviledged few. They would return us to the 19th Century and backwards when all rights were given to property holders, when laws were created to protect the wealth of the few and when there was no possibility of upward mobility for the poor and middle classes. This is the current vision of the Republican party and it has no advocate more committed to this end than the sock puppet in the White House. This impending disaster Republicans are facing is,hopefully, the culmination of a process begun in 1980 when Reagan ascended the throne much to the dismay of many freedom loving Americans. His assault on unions his ill-conceived trickle-down-voodoo econonic scheme was a very thinly disguised attempt at wealth transferral. A free market is neither free nor a market. Unregulated capitalism poses as much danger to the concept of the general welfare as a police state does to the existence of a free society. Fascism is not a family value. The barrage of scandals plaguing the Bushies would be tragic if it were not such a justly deserved reality. It's like a bully finally getting his comeuppance. Fish rot from the head and this decaying tuna stinks to high heaven. Among other high crimes and misdemeanors the pall of treason hangs over this White House. It makes a consentual sexual encounter seem more like a traffic violation by comparison. We await breathlessly the findings of the independent prosecutor in the Valerie Plame incident.Hot Tub Tommy's dilemma, Sen. Frist's alleged insider trading accusations, the torture-plagued military sanctioned by high ranking officers and our illustrious Attorney General, and the illegal Iraq war, predicated on a series of everchanging lies, should lead to a few of our officials being marched off to the Hague for trial. The first step, and it is a daunting one,is to wrest control of Congress from the abuses of the Republicans in 2006 and promptly begin impeachment proceedings against this knucklehead who, in five short years has done more harm to the republic, at home and abroad, than any single person since Richard Nixon. He took office with a vast surplus We all rallied behind him, domestically and internationally after 9/11. He could have led the free world with universal consensus like no other leader in modern history.Instead, he squandered all good will with his narrow vision, his pre-conceived war plans, and,in the final analysis, his petty demeanor which, to the chagrin and amazement of rational beings everywhere, plunged us into this Iraqi boondoggle from which we are not likely to emerge victorious. Rather, the great harm he has done to the United States at home and abroad will haunt us for years to come. These are your just desserts, Mr President. I suggest as a main course a generous portion of crow. Since you have allegedly fallen off the wagon ,may I further suggest a fine vintage pressed from our collective grapes of wrath. Ribet...ribet

Freedom is not on the march in Iraq, and most certainly not here in the Divided States of America. What is on the march are the jackboots of this administration encouraged by corporate thugs, religious nuts, and a dumbed-down electorate who are more disturbed by other people's sexual habits than they are by the wholesale rape and pillage of this once and future great nation. If you are still a Bush backer you are either a fascist or a blithering idiot, which by the way are not mutually exclusive of one another. Our culture of mediocrity gluts on a daily spoon-feeding of lies, perversion, and distortion which emanates from the White House and is trumpeted throughout the Reich by the Leni Reifenstahl memorial chorus comprised of a bevy of bulimic Valkyries including Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Laura Ingrahm, and the ever vapid Ann Coulter, to name a few. They are supported by an equally revolting male component whose cast of villains includes "Druggy" Limbaugh, Sean "Blarney" Hannity and a troop of fawning minions too numerous to name. It is difficult to assess which facet of this corrupt regime is more harmful to the Republic; the treasonous activities of some of our elected officials or the pitiful indifference and unfathomable ennui infecting the body politic. Liberty comes at great cost Preserving it exacts even more blood and treasure. Waving flags, hoisting crosses into the air and appending yellow ribbons to cars and trees falls miserably short of what is truly required of us to be free. What do you feel in your gut when you look into the eyes of our Marionette-in Chief? There is little light streaming from those piss holes in the snow. If you think that this impostor has your best interest at heart you need help. HE IS A TRAGIC EXAMPLE OF THE POWERS OF MARKETING and serves to underscore the level of banality to which this nation has fallen. Wake up, America!!! The wolf is at the door. Ribet...ribet.

I find it remarkably pathetic that christian activists think that they are being persecuted because the vigilant among us are resisting their efforts to turn this country into a theocracy. Listen up!!! This is not a christian country, never has been, and will never be as long as men and women of good will and lovers of personal freedom counter the assaults on individual liberty by the overly zealous. Bear in mind, all zealots are potential terrorists. We must resist the tyranny of the righteous, the pious, the sanctified. You are free to believe whatever dementia you choose. However, if you think you can stick the butt of your beliefs in our communal face and escape without a sound whacking, you are terribly misguided. I respect your right to believe any nonsense you choose, but I am in no way obligated to respect the essence of your folly. Remember, one man's sacred cow is another man's cheeseburger. No prayer in public schools, no religious symbols in the public forum, and no religious references in our common code. You confuse persecution with ridicule. You may claim persecution only when our tax dollars fund "The Hungry Lion Christian Disposal Service". Hmmmm....ribet,ribet.

Religious indoctrination of children is an insidious form of child abuse. It is one thing to tell them that Santa loves them, but to tell them that God or Jesus loves them is to shackle their developing minds with a debilitating fiction and an utter perversion of reality. God was created in man's image in dark caves millenia ago, the progeny of fear and ignorance The nature of God, as man understands it, has not changed significantly since the first witch doctor proclaimed an intimacy with the mysteries of the universe and thereby held in check the natural curiosity of man's mind. Priests are power brokers who cater to man's fear of the unknown and perpetuate their primacy through intimidation by pandering to that fear. From the pointy-headed pontiff in Rome to the most shameless huckster in rural tents, the message is the same...You are imperfect! This is the message you give to your children. Religion teaches us that we are inately not good enough, that we are helpless to effect our own deliverance from fear and ignorance. Thus we close our eyes, scrunch our face and petition the creature of our own design, begging it for clarity and forgiveness of our self-imposed inadequacies. Such a perfect madness!!! If you must worship, worship at the font of understanding and enlightenment. Do not confuse God with creation and the creative force. God is man-made. What is, is far more majestic and awe-inspiring than any deity you could possibly imagine. Do not set pre-determined limitations on our children's journey to self realization. If you feel you need salvation then save yourself. No one can do it for you...not Jesus, nor Buddha, nor Mohammed, nor Moses. Children do not need salvation They have not poisoned their minds with self doubt and fear. They learn that from you. Tradition and foolish repitition will infect them soon enough. And while you're at it, have mercy on the child within you. Ribet...ribet.
