the toad croaks

Many of you are probably not aware that the christianist tea party members of Congress want to shut down the Federal government just to make an inane point. And they may do it. They are willing to stop pay for our military, stop VA care for our veterans, stop postal service, stop much needed Social Security checks for our seniors and end all other governmental functions including interest payments on our debt and send us into default. We know Republicans don't give a damn about deficits because whenever they are in power, they create them and Democrats must clean up their shit. Republicans are shit. Those that were reasonable have been cowed into silence by the "faithful" and their rich sponsers.
I say, bring it on you pious jerks, and you will surely pay in the next election. I have stated before and reiterate, the christianist right is a malevolent force and a greater threat to the Republic than Islamic terrorists if only for the simple fact that they are already here. These are homegrown terrorists, who, in order to make an ideological point will bring misery and chaos to millions of American households. These people do not care about citizens. They employ their preposterous mythological beliefs in an all out war on social justice. Here is the union of church and state in all its ugliness. I don't mind that they torture themselves with their inhumane dogma, but all sane Americans should be appalled at their callousness and begin to awaken to the real horror of religion in politics.
What do you think?

Even in the face or detractors on the right and left, President Obama and his administration walked a fine line, and with the proper amount and use of "force", was successful in aiding the Egyptian people in their move toward democracy.
Obama allowed a revolution, he did not attempt reform at the end of a barrel. Do you really think Bush could have done as well? I don't.

Why do words like Patriot, Freedom, Liberty, Sacrifice, Rights, Blessed, the list goes on, sound like dirty words when spoken by far too many on the right?

At Sarge's behest, I post these comments on the current condition of the Arizona State Legislature and their latest lunatic shenanigans. To those looking for idiocy in government, Arizona has the motherload.
The legislature has already granted members the right to carry firearms to work for "protection". Possibly a good idea as there are, no doubt, many who would like to see several members of the legislature gone by hook or by crook. However, their latest foray into the shadow world of conspiratorial merengue is this Senate Bill 1433 which essentially creates a committee to nullify any Federal law that they deem unaccaptable. Yes, this is a fringe proposal(no offense, fringe) offered again and again over the course of our existence by a supposedly fringe element in our state. As E.J. Montini opines, a respected jouralist for the Arizona Republic(an) , there may be a fringe element in the state but unfortunately, they are all in the legislature. If only that were true. They did not get elected by Progressives and they control both branches of the legislature, so, I can surmise there are millions of fringees in Arizona.
The charge is being led by the de facto governor of the state, Russell Pearce, a Mormon and a white supremacist sympathizer. We have a lot of these nuts out West. It is easy for white radicals to hide in states filled with white radicals. He is responsible for the notorious SB1070 which is directed towards "aliens". They are trying to pass another "birther" bill requiring all candidates to show their birth certificate. I assume the legitamacy of said documents will be determined by Russell Pearce.
But I digress. The committtee would send their recomendations to the legislature and if they see merit, the legislature can then act to nullify a Federal law. These "strict Constituionalists" seem willing to ignore the "supremacy clause" which states that Federal law trumps state law. One may challenge a law's constitutionality in court, but a state cannot of its volition declare it unconstitutional.
With the myriad of economic woes plaguing the state, these are the kinds of dalliances our intrepid legislature considers important issues. Yet another case of Republicans showing their disdain for law and governance. Republicans should never be allowed to govern because they do not know how.
One blogger on Montini's site thinks that it would be a good idea to secede. In 6 months when the economy collapses and all corporations have left the state, the Gov and the Grand Wizard would be on their knees begging Obama to take them back. As I have often stated, Arizona is the Mississippi of the West. I hope Mississippi can forgive me for the insult.

The middle class worker is suffering a depression, not just a recession. The recession was for the fat cats who are doing quite well now. But recovery for the nation at large, the millions of workers who drive this economy, still goes unaddressed. It is the Republicans along with Republican light Clinton, and their masters, the wealthy corporatists who refuse to share in their recently acquired largess, much of which was given them from the coffers of the Treasury, thanks to Bush, who do not want the middle class to thrive.
Decade after decade, the misinformed and propagandised middle classes have witnessed the decline in pay, and a steady erosion of manufacturing jobs sent to slave states. Yet, in our confusion and disarray, instituted by the rich to keep the the masses warring against each other with divisive wedge issues, guns, gays and god so that stealing would go virtually unnoticed and unreported since the corporatists own the media, these same disenfrancised masses vote Republican time and time again. This alone demonstates how crazy the average American has become as we elect smoothe talking christianists who have only their selfish interests and the bottom line of their masters at heart while decrying the horrors of abortion, and that the government is coming to take your guns away, or any number of absurd and preposterous untruths that you gobble up like chocolate fudge. I hear you wailing about unions and how they have destroyed America. Listen pal, the unions are responsible for most all the good things that this nation stands for. You whine about your liberties being taken away, about socialism and big "gubment" as if you really understood what you are prattling on about. You have been snookered by both the media and the church into believing big businees knows best. If you only took the time to realize that big business can and does find slaves all over the world and they pay little or no tax to this nation and frankly, my dear, don't give a rat's ass about you.
The time has come for the seduced workers to wake up and realize those flags big businesses are waving in your face and that cross stuck, you know where, are merely distractions to keep you looking right while they steal what is left. You should be in the streets protesting rather than in the pews praising. Sadly, far too many Americans have been emasculated and rendered simpleton bystanders in a deadly game and your soul and well being are the prizes the victors claim.
Good luck, America.
